Tripas à Moda do Porto

Description

One of Porto's traditional dish is prepared with several different types of meat, tripes, sausages and white beans. The origin of this dish has a lot to do with the generosity of Oporto people. In 1415, Porto inhabitantes gave all the meat they had to the expedition to conquer Ceuta. This way, they had to find new ways of cooking, this time only with the offals and organs (specially tripes), and they made for the first time, the delicious Tripas à Moda do Porto. This dish was among the 21 Wonders of the Portuguese Gastronomy in 2011.
